All Saints University School of Medicine, Dominica, has concluded plans to establish a School of Medicine in Ikirun, Osun State.
Its Vice Chancellor, Dr Joshua Yussuf, said the university management was ready to take Ikirun land to enviable heights by establishing a medical school in the town.
He made this known recently while receiving Prince Segun Gboleru, a nominee for the vacant Akirun stool, in his office in Toronto, Canada, headquarters of the institution.
Yussuf noted that the institution had given scholarship worth millions of dollars at various times to indigent students across the world, as well as Nigerians.
He, however, said it would be relentless in its drive to ensure opportunities are given to indigent students at home and abroad.
“We will collaborate with you and with our people back home to move our city – Ikirun forward, and also our state, the state of Osun and Nigeria forward. Our institution has given several millions of dollars’ worth of scholarship to indigent students from all over the world, including Nigerians,’’ he said.
Therefore, the university is willing to offer more opportunities to students in Nigeria and abroad,” he said.
Present at the reception were the President of Nigerian-Canadian Association (NCA), Mrs. Kemi Amusan and the Executive Director of Nigerian-Canadian Professional Group, Michael Ayobami Oloyade, among others.
