Hon. Adamu Bello, the former Sole Administrator of Giade Local Government Area (LGA) and a former member of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, has officially rejoined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after dumping the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The development is signaling a significant shift in the political landscape of Bauchi State considering the fact, Adamu Bello is one of the founding members of the APC in Bauchi state and a leading figure in Bauchi North Senatorial District.
The former APC chieftain who played a prominent role in ensuring that the party won Giade LGA during the last General elections cited the continued support of Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed, for his people as the key reason for his decision.
In a statement, Adamu Bello expressed that his constituents, who have always been at the forefront of his political career, urged him to join the PDP in order to better advance their community’s interests.
He said, “I have always been a voice for my people, and they have asked me to take this step so that we can continue to progress.”

“Governor Bala Mohammed has demonstrated a deep commitment to the development of our region, and his leadership has been a beacon of hope for the people of Giade and Bauchi State at large.”
Adamu Bello added that, “The APC, on the other hand, has failed to recognize the value of my efforts and the needs of our people, prompting this shift to PDP where our collective future can be better secured.”
Adamu Bello’s defection to the PDP was coming at a time when the party is looking to solidify its presence in the Northern part of the state as his move is seen as a strategic gain for the PDP in Bauchi and National level as he remains a highly influential figure in Bauchi’s political scene.
Meanwhile, the same day saw another major event in Giade LGA as Hon. Yakubu Adamu, the state Commissioner for Finance and a close ally of Governor Bala Mohammed, launched the Kaura Women Empowerment Program.
The initiative aims to uplift women in Giade and surrounding areas through financial support.
During the ceremony, 250 women beneficiaries received N20,000 each as part of the program designed to provide financial empowerment and boost economic activities in the community. Speaking at the event, Hon.
Yakubu Adamu emphasized the state government’s commitment to empowering women and fostering local economic growth.
“We understand the challenges faced by our women, especially in rural areas.
“This program is just one of the many initiatives that Governor Bala Mohammed has introduced to ensure that every citizen, regardless of their gender or location, has access to opportunities for prosperity,” said Hon. Adamu Bello.
The Kaura Women Empowerment Program is part of a broader strategy by Governor Bala Mohammed’s administration to promote socio-economic development, particularly in marginalized areas of the state.
As the political dynamics in Bauchi continue to evolve, the defection of Hon. Adamu Bello to the PDP and the launch of such impactful empowerment programs by Hon Yakubu Adamu are expected to have significant repercussions on both the political and social fabric of the state as PDP continued to reposition itself ahead future elections while delivering the dividend of democracy.
