Oluwasayo Fabiyi, a former aspirant for the House of Representatives in the All Progressives Congress (APC), alleges that political thugs suspected to be loyal to Olaojo Temitope Vincent attacked his residence, resulting in the death of a domestic staff member.
Fabiyi accused former House of Assembly aspirant, Olaojo Vincent, of orchestrating the attack at his residence in the Elewuro area of the state. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, April 13, 2023, was disclosed by Fabiyi in a statement released to the press in Ado-Ekiti.
Formerly a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Fabiyi defected to the All Progressives Congress weeks before the 2023 general election. He alleges that Vincent, with the assistance of his political ally, Ige Adebayo, employed the services of thugs to intimidate his supporters and undermine his bid to become the party’s flag bearer in the 2023 National Assembly election.
According to Fabiyi, the attack on his residence lasted for over 45 minutes, during which the thugs broke down his gate, fired bullets at his house, destroyed the entrance door, and caused damage to other properties worth millions. One domestic staff member, Roseline, lost her life during the assault.
Describing Olaojo Temitope Vincent as a cowardly politician who fled the country after failing to secure the ruling party’s ticket for the House of Assembly, Fabiyi accused Vincent of directing his political allies to harass others while he issues directives from abroad.
Reacting to the allegations, Ige Adebayo denied any involvement in the incident and expressed condolences to Fabiyi over his loss. He called for a thorough investigation by security agencies to apprehend the perpetrators and emphasized their commitment to peaceful politics and societal development.
Adebayo reiterated their willingness to cooperate with the police in their investigation, affirming that they have no knowledge of or involvement in the attack.
