No fewer than 100 students from tertiary institutions across the six geopolitical zones in Nigeria benefited from the maiden edition of scholarship initiative by the SOHCAHTOA Foundation..
The initiative, which was said to be in a bid to contribute to the growth of education in Nigeria and Africa, received 1,800 applications, from which the winners were selected.
Speaking on the initiative, the co-founder of the foundation, Mrs. Solape Fayemi, in the statement said, “the foundation is expanding its service beyond empowerment, this year which is the maiden edition has One hundred beneficiaries from over One thousand eight hundred applicants across six geo-political zones, we are looking forward to doing more in the next academic year”.
According to her, each of the beneficiaries of the scholarship would continue to receive N250,000 annually for tuition fees until they finish their respective programmes. She added that the foundation believed in helping the young ones to fulfill their dreams and becoming a better person in their society.

“We are taking the scholarship a step further this year because we understand the economic situation and we know the pains that a lot of parents are going through in ensuring that these children continue their education, we want to create a better future for these children and hopefully change the stories of their family.
“The government alone cannot do it, private organisations can come in and support our society, let’s use our resources to affect our society positively, ” she added..
The initiative further added that they must however have good grades and produce their results at the end of each session for renewal of the award, the report stated.
