Disturbed by the growing rate of Maternal-Child Mortality rate and inaccessibility of the vulnerable to healthcare facilities, a Multinational Organisation, Seyi Fara Foundation, has expressed its readiness to partner with the government and its relevant agencies in a bid to curb the trend.

This is as it drummed support for the government with the collaboration of private individuals for it to achieve its set goals in the Primary Healthcare sector.

Statistics in the past have shown that vulnerable women have lost their lives during child delivery as a result of their inability to Healthcare services.

The founding Director of the Organisation, Oluwaseyi Adediran made this known at the presentation of baby clothes and other items to over fifty women in Ibadan at the weekend.

He said the gesture was borne out of the passion to assist as well as save the lives of vulnerable pregnant women and nursing mothers who are in need.

According to him, “The motive of the Foundation is to help nursing and expectant mothers in a bid to reduce Maternal/ Child Mortality rate in the Country.

“The effective Primary Healthcare Services should not be left in the hands of the government alone. All of us as citizens of this country have roles to play.

In order to play an active role in this regard, the Foundation was founded way back in 2017 and has conducted different Health-related programmes in different parts of the Country including Oyo, Sokoto, Kano, and other states.

We are currently having an ongoing programme, entitled: ‘Healthy Beginning, Nurturing Mother and the Children’ which focuses on Antenatal, Early Childhood, and importance of Breastfeeding.

“We have reached out to over 5,000 women with payment of hospital bills including that of cesarean section, food items and presentation of cash”

Speaking in the same vein, a co-founder, Adeniran Adediran said the gesture is in line with the slogan of the Foundation which is to “Impart Lives”

He said, “Our plan is to give back to society. Health is Life as we all know. It is better to save life with our hard earned resources than to engage in frivolous spending.”

The beneficiaries were full of praise for the organization as they submitted that the gesture had gone a long way to save as well ameliorate their sufferings.

“We are calling on other NGOs and we’ll meaning individuals to follow the good steps of Seyi Fara Foundation,” he added.
