Nationnewslead reports that Four secondary school students of Osun State have been arrested and handed over to the police for injuring Peace Corps members in two schools.

The injured Peace Corps members were hospitalized following the attack by the students.

A statement by the Hon Commissioner for Education, Hon Folorunsbo Oladoyin on Monday disclosed that four students have been arrested for disturbing the peaceful atmosphere of Ife Oluwa Co-Educational Grammar School and St Charles Grammar Osogbo.

He alerted that a section of students recently moved from single-sex schools were involved in rascally behaviour in a few schools, disturbing academic activities.

“The four students were caught with dangerous weapons and charms with which they caused bodily injuries on Peace Corps members who are now hospitalized. They have been handed over to the police for possible prosecution.”

 

The commissioner of Education thereby warned that students in public schools should not allow disgruntled elements to infiltrate their ranks to disturb the peaceful atmosphere pervading the current learning environment.

He also charged parents and guardians that any rascally student or those harbouring thugs if caught will be handed over to face the full wrath of the law.

Oladoyin also enjoined principals of school to disallow students from wearing hairstyles that do not fit into academic settings.
