‘A great soul never dies. It brings us together again and again.’ This piece by Maya Angelou depicts the mood of friends, family and associates of late businessman and Chairman of DAAR Communications, High Chief Raymond Aleogho Dokpesi as they come together for his first remembrance.
A memorial service will hold at the Catholic Church of the Assumption, Asokoro, Abuja on the 29th of May, 2024 while a family prayer, burial memorial and cultural ceremony will take place at his hometown, Aghenebode, Edo State on Saturday, June 22, 2024.
Dokpesi, a media mogul died in his Abuja home in 2023 shortly after the Ramadan fast.
A thoroughbred professional, he chairs the DAAR Communications and also owns the African Independent Television.
He is known as a pioneer of the first satellite television in Nigeria and also the first private owned radio station.
