FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc has entered into a partnership with Kire Integrated Farms and Markets Limited (Kire Farms) in the Ikire community of the Irewole Local Government Area of Osun State.

The development is aimed at providing a platform for farmers and other skilled individuals involved in dairy production to get seamless access to sustainable livelihoods as a catalyst to enhance socioeconomic emancipation.

In a statement forwarded to the Tribune online by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Kire Farms, Tai Akinsumbo, the partnership also seeks to expand dairy production and meet increasing demand for its products in Nigeria.

The statement quoted the chairman of Kire Farms, Mr Benedict Gboyega Alabi, who is the immediate past deputy governor of Osun State, to have said: “This collaboration aims to improve the dairy industry in the region by establishing and expanding dairy farming operations.

“We are also leveraging Friesland Campina’s expertise in dairy processing and our experience in agricultural innovation. The partnership seeks to enhance milk production, improve dairy farming practices, and create sustainable livelihoods for local farmers.”

It reads further: “The collaboration aims to utilise FrieslandCampina’s expertise to expand dairy production and meet the increasing demand for high-quality dairy products in Nigeria. Both companies share a vision of promoting agricultural sustainability, innovation, and economic development in Nigeria.”

While emphasising the need to give back to society through corporate social responsibility (CRS), the statement added that “through our joint efforts and investment in dairy farming, we also aim to bolster food security, generate employment opportunities, and foster economic prosperity in Osun State and beyond.”
