President Bola Tinubu has announced the appointment of chairpersons and key executives for 42 federal agencies.

Among the prominent appointees are former Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, who has been named Chairman of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN); Professor Bolaji Akinyemi, former Minister of External Affairs, who will chair the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA); and Senator Tokunbo Afikuyomi, who assumes the role of Chairman of the National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP).

In a move signaling a renewed drive to strengthen governance and ensure efficient management of public institutions, Tinubu also named Dr. Kayode Isiak Opeifa as Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation and Raji Kazeem Kolawole as Director-General of the National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI).

Hon. Hilliard Eta from Cross River was appointed Chairman of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), while Senator Magnus Abe from Rivers State will head the National Agency for the Great Green Wall.

In his directive, President Tinubu emphasized the non-executive nature of the board chairpersons’ roles, cautioning them against interfering in the day-to-day management of the agencies.

“Your primary responsibility is to provide oversight and strategic direction, not to micromanage,” the President said.

The appointments also cover key institutions in health, education, technology, and infrastructure.
