The Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOYE), Ekiti State, has postponed academic activities from March 14 to March 20 in compliance with the rescheduled governorship and the states’ assembly elections.
It also said physical revision exercise for the 2022/2023 first semester examinations would commence between 21st and 25th March, 2023.
This is contained in a statement signed by the university’s registrar, Mr. Mufutau Adesina Ibrahim, released to journalists on Friday by the public relations officer of the university, Mr. Foluso Ogunmodede.
FUOYE had last month complied with the Federal Government’s directive that students of tertiary institutions should vacate their schools ahead of the general elections.
According to the statement, the shift in resumption date of March 14 as earlier announced by the university to March 20 is occasioned by the shift of the governorship and the states’ assembly elections from March 11 to March 18, 2023 by the independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
It reads: “Following the postponement of the gubernatorial and the states’ houses of assembly elections from Saturday March 11 to Saturday March 18, 2023 by INEC, I hereby write to convey the university management’s decision that the resumption date has been extended to Monday, 20th March, 2023.
“The university management has also decided that with effect from Tuesday, 21st March to Saturday, 25th March, 2023 there will be an intensive physical revision exercise to prepare students adequately for the forthcoming 2022/2023 first semester examinations.
“Please, be informed that the exercise will be monitored by the university management and supervised by all Deans to ensure strict compliance with this decision.”
