National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje has invited all the aspirants of the just concluded governorship primary election to Abuja.
The invitation might not be unconnected with the outcome of the primary election where many of the aspirants who participated in the exercise expressed their displeasure of the exercise.
At least five of the aspirants have petitioned the Appeal Committee put in place by the party, kicking against the outcome of the whole exercise and described the election as a sham.
A source who confirmed the invitation said the invitation followed speculations that some aspirant may head to Court and the Ganduje was in the process of reconciling the aspirants with the party.
He said this is to guide against losing the state in the governorship election and pacify the aspirants.
Confirming the national chairman’s invitation, one of the aspirants, Gbenga Edema confirmed the receipt of the invitation letter from the National Secretariat.
He said; “Yes, I can confirm the receipt of an invitation from the National Secretariat of the party, slated for this Thursday in Abuja”.
The letter to the aspirants slated for APC National secretariat read: “The chairman kindly inviting all the 16 aspirants who participated at the just concluded Ondo state gubernatorial primaries for an important meeting.
The meeting is scheduled for APC National Secretariat conference hall, on Thursday, 25th April 2024 at 2 pm prompt
“You are kindly advised to attend the meeting unfailingly“.
