Nigeria-born German International Karim David Adeyemi was on Boxing Day, spotted in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The player was spotted at the Olubadan Stadium, where he watched his team, Adeyemi FC play a novelty match against Nigeria Professional Football League side, Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan. The game ended 1-0 in favour of 3SC.
Fans at the stadium were excited to see the Germany-based player who hails from Ibadan as many pictured with the 20-year-old footballer just as tweeps shared the updates on social media.
It was gathered that the exhibition game was organized by his NGO, Karim Adeyemi Foundation.
Adeyemi, born in Munich, Germany to a Nigerian father and a Romanian mother, opted to play for the German national team, and has represented the German under-16s, under-17s and under-21s.
Adeyemi made his debut for the Germany senior team in a 6–0 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification win over Armenia on 5 September 2021, coming on as a late substitute and scoring his side’s sixth goal in the first minute of second-half injury time.
Adeyemi who is now on the payroll of Borussia Dortmund was also part of the German team that crashed out of the recently concluded World Cup in Qatar at the group stage of the tournament.
