A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo, Dr Femi Adekanmbi, has appealed to Nigerian youths to shelve their planned nationwide protest over hardship in the country.
Adekanmbi, a former Commissioner for Special Duties, Culture and Tourism in the state, said that shelving the protest would be in the interest of peace.
He made this known in a statement in Akure on Wednesday.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the planned protest is scheduled for August 1 to August 10.
Adekanmbi appealed to the youth to give President Bola Tinubu’s administration an opportunity to implement his transformative agenda for the country.
Adekanmbi emphasised the need for patience and trust in the administration, urging the youth to allow the president to fulfill his campaign promises and bring a positive change in Nigeria.
“Tinubu has shown tremendous capacity and willingness to tackle the nation’s challenges.
“Let us give him the chance to make a difference. He has the blueprint for Nigeria’s revival. With our support, I am confident he will deliver.
“We are on the right track as a nation,” the APC chieftain said.
