The Secretary to the Gombe State Government (SSG), Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, has commended the leadership and members of the Mallam Sidi Progressive Association (MPA) for their unwavering commitment to the development of the area.

Professor Njodi, who gave the commendation while addressing the 8th Annual Meeting of the Association in Mallam Sidi, noted that the attention accorded to education has significantly accelerated the growth of the community.

The SSG, impressed by the Association’s efforts in the educational sector, made a personal donation of N1 million to its Educational Endowment Fund to support children from less privileged backgrounds.

Addressing developmental challenges facing the community, including the establishment of tertiary institutions and health facilities, as well as issues like erosion and road networks, the Secretary directed the relevant Commissioners to collaborate with the Director General of Joint Projects and the Local Government Chairman to develop actionable strategies for their resolution.

Professor Njodi also announced that work would soon commence on the proposed Modern International Cattle Market near the community. He urged the youth in the area to take advantage of the job opportunities the market would provide.
