Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has expressed appreciation and gratitude to all citizens of the state for their continued understanding of his administration while he was on leave.
In a statement, Governor Bago specifically commended his Deputy, Comrade Yakubu Garba, for the active, passionate, and resilient manner in which he steered the ship of leadership as Acting Governor.
The Governor further applauded members of the State Executive Council, the leadership and members of the Legislature, the Judiciary, Traditional and Religious leaders, as well as the heads of security agencies in the state for their overwhelming support and contributions, which the Governor said facilitated the smooth running of governance during his absence.

He also commended media organizations and all practicing journalists in the state for their role in promoting the growth and development of Niger State.
The Governor said the leave period afforded him the opportunity to reflect on and evaluate the impact of his administration’s policies and programs with a view to improving them for better service delivery to the people.
He reaffirmed his commitment to serving the people diligently and with greater vigor to achieve the New Niger Agenda.
It should be recalled that the Governor embarked on a one-month leave after the State Assembly approved his request to transmit the powers of his office to his Deputy, allowing him to act as Governor.
