Governor Mai Mala Buni has approved payment of their outstanding pensions to verified Local Government Pensioners in Yobe State.
The Pensioners in all the 17 LGAs in the state are to enjoy the largesse as contained in a statement by the Director-General, Press and Media Affairs to the Governor, Alhaji Mamman Mohammed, and made available to newsmen in Damaturu.
According to the statement, the Governor approved the sum of N667,045,441.22 for payment to the 475 local government Pensioners in the 17 LGAs of the state.
The approval is coming shortly after the screening and verification of the Pensioners in all of the LGAs.
According to the statement, “The Committee has verified a total of 475 beneficiaries and hereby attach lists of beneficiaries and summary according to local government areas for both living and deceased Pensioners.”
The development is in continuation of Governor Mai Mala Buni’s efforts to settle outstanding pensions owed to retired local government employees.
