The Director of Press and Public Affairs (DOPPA) to Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau, Gyang Bere, says the governor is determined to unite the people of the state.
Mr Bere said this at the thanksgiving service organised by the leadership of the Plateau Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) on Sunday in Jos.
According to Mr Bere, the governor, with the support of the various security agencies, had adopted various strategies that would promote peace at all levels of the state.
“Our governor is a man of peace and he is on board to unite all citizens of the state devoid of ethnic or religious affiliations.
“He is also determined and has demonstrated his unwavering commitment toward building a peaceful and prosperous Plateau.
“There are beautiful efforts by this government toward ensuring that the state is moving forward and becomes the envy of other states,” the aide said.
The DOPPA, however, called on citizens of the state to support the government in its bid toward providing good governance to all.
He also urged them to be law abiding and support security agencies toward ensuring lasting peace returned to the state.
Musa Ashoms, the Commissioner for Information and Communications, thanked the people of the state for their support so far to the current administration in the state.
“We have a God-fearing governor in Caleb Mutfwang; please, let’s all support him to succeed,” he appealed.
Earlierr, Ayuku Pwaspo, the NUJ Chairman in the state, explained that the service was to thank God for emerging victorious at the recently concluded election of the union.
