The Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Ododo has commissioned the new palace of new Etsu/Madaki, promised to continue to give priority to the traditional institution.

He pointed out that his administration will continue to provide the necessary infrastructure development for Traditional Rulers in the State.

Gov Ododo represented by the Commissioner For Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr. Abubakar Bashiru Gegu, made the promise at Tawari Kingdom, where he donated the sum of N5million in support of the newly commissioned Palace of the New Etsu/Madaki’s Palace.

The commissioning of the Chief and the Madaki of Gbagyi’s Palace took place in Tawari, Kogi LGA, Kogi State.

The Governor described the event of the commissioning as a significant milestone held under the leadership of HRH Alh. Idris Alhasan Yusuf, the Aguma of Tawari Kingdom.

The Governor described the Aguma of Tawari as a traditional ruler committed to ensuring the peace and tranquility of his domain.

While pointing out that the commissioning of the palace would have a positive impact on the community’s unity and security, said it underscores the efforts of the Kogi State Government to promote development and growth in the area.

Gov Ododo assured the people of his commitment to improving on the well-being of the people of Tawari, promised to bring more dividends of democracy to the area.

He assured that everything humanly possible would be done to construct the Road from Gegu to Tawari Town, down to Achara, Osuku and to Koton Karfe town, commending the people of the area for their support to his administration.

The governor promised sustained support towards maintaining the security architecture that would help tackle insecurity challenges which he pointed out is now becoming a thing of the past so as to enhance rapid development of Tawari community and Kogi LGA in general.

The Governor pointed out that his administration since assumption of office has focused on infrastructure development such as road construction, explaining that it is geared towards improving access to towns and communities and to also attract investors.

He added that Kogi state is rich in mineral resources that includes limestone, iron ore, coal, and marble, making it an attractive destination for investments, said peace and tranquility remain the watch words of the his administration.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Kyauta Nathan Bawa Ph.D, Brig. Gen. Stephen Bawa Rtd, Hon. Moses Bawa and others who are the organizers appreciated the efforts of Gov. Ododo in bringing succour to the people of Tawari community and other communities in Kogi LGA.

They equally lauded the Governor for the trust it reposed on Engr. Bashir Gegu, described him as a key player in not only touching lives positively in the Community but in Kogi LGA as a whole.

The various speakers stressed that they will continue to support the present administration, praised Gov Ododo for his desire to fulfill his campaign promises since assumption of office.

The event was attended by high-profile guests, including the Deputy Governor of Benue State.

Other guests that attended the commissioning of the Palace include Hon. Bala Ette, SSA on Climate Change to the Governor of Kogi State.

Others in attendance were the Executive Chairman of Kogi LGA, represented by his Chief of Staff, the Councillor representing Tawari Ward, the Ward Leader, and the APC Chairman of Tawari ward, along with other party faithfuls.

Highlights of the commissioning was the Inauguration of the palace and the donation of N5million by Gov Usman Ahmed Ododo.
