Ekiti Governor, Biodun Oyebanji has threatened to shutdown filling stations hoarding fuel following the resurface of queues across the State.
Nigerian Tribune observed that across few filing stations dispensing the product, residents were seen on long queues at the stations with their vehicles and motorcycles.

Also, at the few stations visited, the fuel is being sold for between N650 and N690 per litre in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.
Worried by the hardship being faced by the residents, governor Oyebanji on Thursday directed the state task force on petroleum products to swing into action against filling stations hoarding the product.
In a statement by the special adviser on media, Yinka Oyebode, he, ” cautioned owners of filling stations in the state who are in the habit of hoarding petroleum product, thereby creating unnecessary hardship for the people, to desist from the unethical practice.
“Consequently, the Governor has directed the State Task Force on Petroleum Product to ensure every filling station that has fuel sell to the public at recommended pump price.
“Any filling station found hoarding fuel will face appropriate sanctions, including payment of heavy fine or sealing of the business premises.”
