Governor Chukwuma Soludo has emerged as the winner of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) governorship primary in Anambra State.
The primary election took place on Saturday at Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka, under tight security and monitored by officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Soludo, who is seeking re-election for a second term in office, secured an overwhelming victory by polling 3,171 votes out of the 3,175 accredited delegates from all 326 political wards across the state. His victory solidifies his position as APGA’s flagbearer for the upcoming governorship election.

In a statement by the Governor on Saturday, the Governor disclosed: “Never before in Anambra’s history has there been such a wide consensus. I am truly humbled, and I assure you that I will not let APGA and the people of Anambra down.
“We will continue to work to deepen our vision of infrastructure development, human capital investment, security and economic transformation.
“Anambra has not seen anything yet. Our agenda is loaded, and we will continue the progress unbroken,” he said.
