Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf has announced that the state government will reward two primary school head teachers who were found in their offices during vacation and preparing for the upcoming 2024/2025 academic session, starting next week.
He made the announcement during an unscheduled visit to Tsanyawa Central and Model Primary Schools in Tsanyawa Local Government Area, where he met the headmasters at their duty posts.
According to a statement signed by the Governor’s Spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the governor was visibly impressed by the headmasters’ commitment to their duties, even though the schools are currently on vacation.

Yusuf stated that after consulting with the state Commissioner of Education, the State Government would determine a suitable reward to enhance the morale of the head teachers and inspire others to emulate them.
He added that, as part of the ongoing State of Emergency on Education, the schools he visited would be prioritized to create an improved environment for teaching and learning.
He said he would continue to pay unscheduled visits to schools and government projects across the state to ensure they are implemented efficiently and according to established standards.
In their separate remarks, the Head Teachers of Tsanyawa Central Primary School, Malam Ismaila Alhassan, and Model Primary School, Malam Magaji Sule, expressed their appreciation for the governor’s gesture and efforts to revive education in the state.
