The Ogun State governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has been given a new mandate to steer the ship of the state for another four years. Of course, there is unfinished business that must be completed in the next four years and Abiodun at his inauguration on May 29 this year promised “to building a government that is transparent, equitable, accountable, and responsive to the needs of our people”.

Some of the tasks which the governor should pursue vigorously is to see to the completion of the cargo airport. The project which is regarded as the “flagship project” would herald the era of influx of new local and foreign investors into the state.

Another very important project that would further attract investment to the state is the proposed construction of a dry port at Kajola. This project when it eventually comes on board would help in decongesting the Apapa port, and open a new visa for business opportunity for investors. Just as this will be going on, the state government according to Abiodun tends to execute the LIGHT-UP Ogun project which is aimed at providing uninterrupted power supply to the major cities in the State.

Similarly, Prince Abiodun had announced to the world that his administration in the next four years, would ensure that the Olokola Deep Sea Port see the light of the day, while efforts would be geared towards making the State joined the league of oil producing State through the exploration of Oil at Tongeji Island and at Ogun Waterside Local Government Area.

Furthermore, the governor Abiodun’s administration should expedite action on the Ogun Digital Infrastructure project to provide internet connectivity across the State, just as the Urban Bus Mass Transit System, which had already taken off in Abeokuta, would be extended to other parts. The governor of course should work towards extending the Red and Blue Rail Lines from Lagos to Agbado and Agbara in Ogun State.

Towards fulfilling his promised 6000 housing units, the state government should build additional housing units and sell to members of the public at affordable price.
