Today is special and significant in the life of the special one, a global icon and the second substantive Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji, Dr. Ademola Iyanda Ebeloku.
Unlike other days, birthday is distinctive and its distinctive nature is refined in wishes and goodwill messages from friends, families, colleagues, subordinates, and contemporaries from afar and near. By now, heaps of messages would have flooded Dr. Ebeloku’s phones with many lots of gifts and picture frames presentation, not because of being the Rector of Ile-Oluji Polytechnic but because of who he is and his true nature.
The question longing for an answer is not far-fetched, who is Dr. Ebeloku?
Dr. Ebeloku is a man of God and a man of the people. His dictates and exemplary lifestyle do not only reflect his refined simplicity but that of a full-fledged man with an un-tinted reputation.
Dr. Ebeloku’s unsullied reputation dated back to many years as a staff of the Federal Polytechnic Offa, as the Head of Department of Business Administration Department, as Dean, School of Business and Management Studies, and as Chairman of the biggest cooperative society in the Federal Polytechnic Offa where he was the custodian of public funds.
It is an obvious and conspicuous fact that Dr. Ebeloku assumed duties as Assistant Lecturer at the Federal Polytechnic Offa in 1997 and rose through the ranks to become a Chief Lecturer. He served the Federal Polytechnic Offa diligently, outstandingly, and distinctively in different capacities and held many positions as chairman or member of different management committees. He was one-time Head of Department, Dean, School of Business and Management Studies (SBMS) where he administratively rejigged the SBMS from December 2018 to March 2022. He is a kind-hearted, innovative and generous leader who knows the best moment to bid farewell.
Dr. Ebeloku’s career records as a Lecturer, Head of Department, Dean, and Chairman of the Cooperative Society are devoid of corrupt practices or embezzlement. He sees public funds as an integrity test and he excellently scaled through. Dr. Ebeloku carries the emblem of integrity from the Federal Polytechnic Offa to the Lens Polytechnic as Acting Rector and presently to The Federal Polytechnic Ile-Oluji as substantive Rector. His giant strides at Lens Polytechnic Offa remain indelible and incredible.
The free flow of any organization or institution depends on a finesse leader, a finesse leader is pragmatic and diplomatic. Dr. Ebeloku’s diplomacy and pragmatism are embedded in his charismatic tendency of building human capacity for national development. His intellectual prowess has produced leaders who are making waves in their various fields of endeavors and has equally placed him high among notable scholars of repute in Nigeria. He is not just knowledgeable, he is a reservoir of knowledge.
Dr. Ebeloku identifies and discovers distinctive personnel who takes solace in collective and individual strength. He takes no pleasure in spotting human flaws, but waters their vigor and strength so that his leadership formation remains solid with noble squad. He is a complete visionary leader in many ways. Still, his face always wears a simplified look. He is like one of the heroes who found their ways into the pages of History where those who made change possible can never be forgotten.
My philosophy about life says a wealthy man is not the one who uses the whole world to build mansions, a wealthy man is someone who invests in human capacity development, a wealthy man is the one who puts smiles on people’s faces, a wealthy man is the one who brings succor to the people, a wealthy man is the one who renders free will assistance to the needy, a wealthy man is the one who makes positive impacts by elevating people around him. I will tell these tales with a smile to the generations unborn that I know a great man who possesses the above qualities and that is Dr. Ademola Iyanda Ebeloku, that is who he is and his true nature. He is a rare mankind who comes with a highly humane personality.
As you celebrate your birthday today, may you continue to experience God’s unlimited favor, blessing, and protection in all ramifications. May your wishes and desires come to pass and may your great mission be accomplished beyond imagination.
