A 44-year-old healer, Kazeem Elemo, on Monday, was remanded in Ilesa correctional centre by an Osun State Magistrates’ Court for allegedly taking undue advantage of a customer (name withheld) who went to him for spiritual cleansing.
It was gathered that Elemo on March 20 gave the customer alcohol to drink and sexually exploited her.
Prosecutor, John Idoko in two-count charges told the court that Elemo on the 20th day of March at about 3:30 pm at Oba-lle, Osun State “did unlawfully take undue advantage of one (name withheld) when she came to you for spiritual cleansing, which you gave her alcohol to drink and sexually exploited her.”
He added that the defendant “did unlawfully and indecently assault one (name withheld) by putting your mouth on her breasts and your finger on her private part.”
The defendant, according to the charge sheet, committed offences punishable under Section 32 of the Child’s Rights Laws of Osun State 2007 and Section 360 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol. II laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2002.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge levelled against him.
The Chief Magistrate, Segun Ayilara, remanded the accused at Ilesa Correctional Centre.
The magistrate, thereby, adjourned the case till Monday 15th May 2023.
