Some herbal products worth millions of naira have been destroyed following a fire outbreak at a storage facility in Oyo town, Oyo State.
It was gathered that the inferno erupted at Olanlokun Junction, Obabi Street, Old Cele area of the state on Saturday.
Disclosing the incident in a statement on Sunday, General Manager of Oyo State Fire Service, Yemi Akinyinka, said that the building which was engulfed by fire is being used as storage facility for herbal products.

Mr. Yemi noted that the products, which is said to worth millions of naira were completely destroyed.

He said: “On getting there, the crew met heaps of local herbs within the premises of a residential building being used to store different types of local herbs, engulfed by fire.
We swiftly commenced firefighting operations and were able to curtail it from spreading to the main building and the nearby buildings.
“The properties worth several millions of naira were saved by the officers of the agency.”
