The Chairman of Yauri Local Government, Alhaji Abubakar Shu’aibu, confirmed that Maigadi was buried according to Islamic rites in Yauri after a funeral prayer.
Governor Nasir Idris expressed his condolences to the Yauri Emirate and the deceased’s family through a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Alhaji Ahmed Idris. The governor urged the emirate and the family to accept the tragic incident as the will of Allah.
“We sympathize with the Yauri Emirate and the family of the deceased. May Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him Jannatul Firdaus,” the governor said.
The incident highlights the potential dangers of human-wildlife interactions, especially in areas where animals like hippos are known to be protective of their young.
