The Kano State Hisbah Board, in its effort to sanitize society from bad habits, has apprehended no fewer than 16 young men accused of sporting alleged immoral haircuts. These arrests were made during raids at various entertainment centers during the Eid-el-Fitr Sallah celebrations in the city.

According to reports, the raids were part of the board’s operation “Kau da Badala,” an initiative aimed at stamping out prostitution and immorality in the community.

One of the youths arrested, Aminu Usman, 20, admitted to getting the haircut after seeing his peers sporting it. He expressed regret for his actions, acknowledging that it was against Islamic values, and sought forgiveness.

Similarly, another youth, Halifa Muhammad, a resident of Sabuwar Gandu, claimed that he adopted the haircut after observing many others in his community wearing it. Muhammad, 19, revealed that he paid N1,000 for the haircut but expressed remorse, stating that he would not allow his mother to see him with it as it goes against their beliefs.

He emphasized that he wouldn’t repeat such actions, recognizing that the haircut is associated with bad and immoral behavior that they were imitating.
