THE General Overseer of the Be-Prepared Evangelical Church, Apostle Dapo Ojo, has stressed the importance of honouring and learning from the wisdom of past generations by respecting and integrating the teachings and experiences of the “old gospel”.

The cleric noted that the younger clerics can enrich their ministries and ensure a more balanced and comprehensive approach to their work, stating that respect for tradition can provide a strong foundation while also allowing for innovation and growth within the context of a well-rounded evangelical practice.

Ojo shared this knowledge while speaking with newsmen ahead of the church’s annual convention and 50th anniversary of the ministry. He encouraged younger clerics in the country to respect the pioneers of the gospel and to combine traditional and modern methods of spreading the gospel for positive impact.

According to him, the convention theme is “Gospel Heritage” and it will take place from August 19 to 25 at the Ajanla Farm campground along the Lagos/Ibadan expressway. The cleric emphasised the significance of the gospel in the past and highlighted the need to pass it on as a heritage to the new generation.

“I have been in the ministry for 54 years, and the church will be 50 years old during the convention. I have no regrets about devoting myself to the work of God. I was taught raw evangelism, and it has greatly helped my ministry.”

“The advancement of technology has influenced the spread of the gospel and changed its dynamics worldwide. We should strive to find a balance instead of condemning the traditional way of spreading the gospel and publicly criticising one another,” he added.

He noted that some of the clerics expected to minister at the convention, include the  Christ Apostolic Church, CAC, in Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor Samuel Oladele; Reverend Samson Ajetomobi; Apostle Sunday Popoola, and Reverend Idowu Animashaun, among others.
