Dr. Princess Akawor, the founder of LuxeByGlamoholic, has shared how her doctorate from Freedom University and Technology Seminary, along with her recognition as one of Africa’s Outstanding Young CEOs by CEO Africa, has significantly shaped her fashion vision and business approach.
Giving an insight about her industrial progress, the luxury fashion entrepreneur explained that these accomplishments helped solidify her drive for excellence, creativity, and leadership within Nigeria’s fast-growing fashion industry.
“My doctorate has broadened my thinking and deepened my understanding of how to lead effectively, especially in a competitive market like fashion, while the CEO Africa Award, in particular, has been a validation of my efforts, proving that our hard work at LuxeByGlamoholic is truly being recognised,” Dr. Akawor noted.
She received her honorary doctorate on October 5, 2024, a milestone that she describes as transformative in shaping her brand’s forward-thinking strategies.
Since founding LuxeByGlamoholic in 2010, Dr. Akawor said her brand has become synonymous with luxury, elegance, and premium quality, with branches in major Nigerian cities like Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt.
She said her unique transition from biomedical technology to luxury fashion has played a crucial role in her growth, blending the precision of science with the creativity of fashion.
“The recognition I received from CEO Africa as one of Africa’s Outstanding Young CEOs was a major turning point. It pushed me to aim even higher and expand the boundaries of my brand, ensuring we remain at the forefront of Nigeria’s luxury fashion industry,” she said.
Dr. Akawor highlighted that the combination of her academic accomplishments and industry recognition has driven her to continuously raise the bar.
According to her, she has introduced rebranding strategies to elevate LuxeByGlamoholic’s market presence while staying true to the brand’s core values of quality and elegance, saying, “Our success has always been built on our commitment to quality and elegance, and these recognitions have reinforced my vision to always deliver the best,” she added.
Beyond her business achievements, Dr. Akawor also acknowledged the challenges of maintaining high standards in a competitive retail environment, adding, “The fashion industry is tough, but my educational background and awards have equipped me to tackle these challenges head-on, ensuring LuxeByGlamoholic remains a top luxury brand in Nigeria.”
As she continues to expand her fashion empire, Dr. Akawor said she is focused on increasing brand visibility and fostering closer connections with customers.
“We are working on creating immersive experiences, such as fashion pop-up events, that not only showcase our collections but also highlight the luxury and exclusivity that LuxeByGlamoholic represents,” she shared.
