Chief Corporate Communications Officer of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL), Olufemi Soneye, has announced measures to sustain the operations of the Port Harcourt Refinery’s 210,000 barrels per day (kbblpd) capacity.

This includes the OPHR 60kbblpd plant and the NPHR 150kbblpd facility.

This was disclosed in an exclusive interview with Nigerian Tribune on Friday.

Soneye revealed that NNPCL has implemented an interim Operations and Maintenance (O&M) contract to ensure uninterrupted operations of Area 5 within the refinery.

This move comes as the corporation finalizes the tendering process for a long-term five-year O&M contract.

“We are about to finalize the five-year O&M tendering process. This will finally put us on the right path to ensure we have the best contractor in the world working with NNPCL to ensure reliability and utilization of the 210kbblpd refinery,” Soneye stated.
