Amid ongoing controversies surrounding her marriage to Nigerian billionaire and senator Ned Nwoko, popular Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has revealed that her decision to marry him was not driven by material possessions.
Addressing public scrutiny and criticism over her marriage, particularly the notable age gap, Daniels clarified in a recent live video that her relationship with Nwoko was rooted in genuine affection and shared values rather than wealth.

“My mum and family were initially against my marriage to Ned,” Daniels shared, explaining that it took considerable persuasion for her family to support her decision. She added that her mother, Rita Daniels, only came to accept the marriage after recognizing her deep commitment.

Despite rumours that her mother had introduced her to Nwoko at a political rally, Daniels insists she first met him during a sightseeing trip with a former boyfriend. She emphasized that they connected over shared interests, which sparked a relationship based on mutual understanding.
The 22-year-old actress defended her marriage against claims it was orchestrated for financial gain, asserting that her happiness and personal growth within the relationship have been her primary focus. “People don’t see the other side of him,” she explained, maintaining that her choice was independent of material motives.
While some critics continue to question the authenticity of their relationship, Daniels has remained resolute, affirming that she has found fulfillment and happiness with Nwoko. She urged the public to see beyond appearances, stating that her marriage was a personal decision made out of love and connection.
