Ekiti state governor, Biodun Oyebanji has said that his administration would not tolerate corrupt practices and financial recklessness from the newly inaugurated commissioners and special advisers in the state.

Oyebanji who spoke on Tuesday during the swearing-in ceremony for the new 19 commissioners and 14 Special Advisers in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital urged the new appointees to be focused and ready to contribute their quota for the realization of his six-point agenda for the state.

The governor who acknowledged the daunting tasks before the new cabinet members almost a year in the life of the government, expressed optimism that they would bring to bear their expertise and experience for the development and prosperity of the state.

While congratulating them on the call for the service of the state, advised the new cabinet members not to abandon people in their respective communities and local government areas, saying constant engagement and relationship with the citizens would be valuable in the discharge of their duties.

According to him, “Our administration has zero tolerance for corruption and I will urge you to shun all corrupt tendencies including greed and personal aggrandizement. Don’t do or involve in anything that will embarrass the government.”

Oyebanji disclosed that he had an agreement with the leadership of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in the state to appoint more party members after the 2023 general election, describing accusations from some quarters over delay in appointment as misplaced and unnecessary.

He stated that a retreat has been scheduled for the new and old cabinet members between August 10 and 12 for them to be acquainted with the policy directions of the administration and exchange ideas for the task of public service.

The new commissioners and their portfolios are, Ebenezer Boluwade ( Agriculture and food security), Oyeniyi Adebayo (Budget, Economic planning and performance management), Taiwo Olatunbosun (Information), Adesola Adebayo (Works), Kolawole Ajobiewe (Transportation), Dr Kofoworola Aderiye (Education), Folorunsho Olabode (Local government Affairs), Adebayo Gold (Youth development), Mrs Tosin Aluko (Environment and natural resources), Mrs Peju Babafemi ( Women affairs and social development) and Mrs Tayo Adeola (Industry, trade and investment).

Others are ; Professor Patrick Tedela (capacity development and training), Seun Fakuade (Innovation, science and digital economy), Kayode Fasae (Wealth creation and employment), Awe Abimbola (Rural and community development), Dolamu Adeniyi (Special duties), Professor Ojo Bakare ( Arts, culture and creative economy), Kareem Akande (Regional development and inter-government affairs) and Ojo Atibioke (Chieftaincy and home affairs).

The new Special Advisers are; Tade Aluko (State capital development Authority), Gboyega Oloniyo (Bureau of Housing and mortgage development), Gbenga Agbeyo(Human capital development and allied matters), Mrs Kemi Olaleye ( Gender empowerment and mobilization), Abiola Olowokeere (Legislative affairs), Femi Ajayi (Independent project monitoring office) and Mrs Yemisi Ayokunle (Social Investment programmes).

Others include Mrs Oluremi Babington (Rural mobilization), Mrs Adetoun Agboola(Special education and social inclusion), Dr Ekundayo Moyo (Office of transportation and service delivery ), Mr Adeola Ayeni (Governance), Mr Niyi Idowu (Legal matters), Mr Sunday Akinyele (Business Development) and Dr Akeem Azeez (Tertiary education).
