Former Kaduna Central lawmaker, Shehu Sani says if the cases at the Presidential Election Petition Court against Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress are taken to the Sharia court, justice will be served swiftly.

Information Nigeria reports that a three-member Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC), will conduct its proceedings at the Court of Appeal in Abuja, today and commence a pre-hearing session on all the petitions that were brought before it by aggrieved presidential candidates and their political parties.

Recall that the candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi and the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Atiku Abubakar are in court challenging the February 25 presidential election result that birthed Tinubu as Nigeria’s next president.

This platform recalls that there has been calls from several quarters to halt the swearing in of president-elect Tinubu as there are still pettions ongoing against his victory.

However, Festus Keyamo, chief spokesman of the dissolved Tinubu-Shettima campaign council disclosed on Sunday that those calling for the determination of the Election Petitions before May 29 under the electoral laws are plainly ignorant, crassly mischievous and want to destroy the cases of the petitioners.

But reacting via Twitter on Monday as hearing commences, Sani opined that if the defendant, opposition and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) are given a day each for defense with swearing, the Court’s decision will be ready by Friday.

He tweeted: “Give the opposition one day to present their case. Give the ruling party one day to defend themselves. Give INEC one day to defend themselves. Demand for INEC portal result. Tell all the three to swear. If this Presidential case is taken to Customary or Sharia court today justice will be done by Friday. Shikenan.”
