OLUFEMI MICHEAL OLUWATOBA SHABLA has emerged the President of Apex youth body in Ijesa land, IJESA YOUTH FORUM, IYF.

Shabla who hails from Atakumosa west Local Government defeated his only contestant Odeyemi Sunday Sapaye from ilesa West to emerge the President in the peaceful election conducted at Obokungbusi hall in ereja square, Ilesa

Also elected were, Vice President: Ogungbemi Gideon from Atakumosa East, Gen Sec: Fakanlu John from Obokun LG, AGS: Adebowale Opeyemi J from Oriade LG, PRO: Komolafe Tolulope from atakumosa west,  PRO II: Aniya Joshua Abiodun atakumosa east,Treasurer: Obisesan Olusola Oriade LG, Fin Sec: Oyewole Elijah O from Obokun, Director of Welfare: Adebowale Pelumi from Ilesa East, Director of Monilization: Fakinlede Temitope from Oriade LG and Director of Women Affairs: Akinjoyegbe Omobola from ilesa west.

 

The election which was keenly contested started with accreditation of delegates from the Six Local Government in ijesa Land, Ilesa East, Ilesa West, Atakumosa East,  Atakumosa West, Oriade and Obokun.

 

The new executive is to pilot the affairs of the youths in Ijesa Land for the next three years. Speaking with our correspondent at the Obokungbusi hall, the newly elected President, Olufemi Oluwatoba, vowed to unite all youths in ijesa land to enable them speak with one voice, while charging youths to avoid such social vices like drug addiction, crime, violence, robbery, restiveness.

 

He expressed happiness with the manner which the Kabiyesi Owa Obokun of Ijesa Land Oba Dr Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran 11 and other stakeholders are handling the current security situation within the ijesa land, and expressed optimism that the region would witness peace and positive development in no distant time.

On what to expect from the new executive, he promised to pursue programmes that would enhance the youth intellectually, promising that their major task would be youth cultural and value re-orientation, training, empowerment amongst others. Continue Reading
