A young man identified as Muima is set to walk down the aisle with his aged lover, Thereza against all odds.
The 25-year-old, who is head over heels in love with the 85-year-old woman, said the way she treated him ignited his love for her.
Thereza, who has eight children and 20 grandchildren, is the landlady of the apartment where Muima and his friend reside.
Despite the 60 -year- age gap, disapproval from Thereza’s kids and Muima’s friend, Kakule, the duo are hell-bent on taking their relationship to a new level by getting married.
They are keen on loving each other and say not even spiritual powers can separate them.
In an interview with ‘Afrimax’, via a video shared on YouTube, Muima, a Kenyan revealed he left Congo for another town (undisclosed) with the sole purpose of continuing his education at the university and later fell in love with the 85-year-old Thereza.
He said he took enough time to think about the matter and noted it was his choice and happiness just like everyone else’s.
“This is my choice. This is my happiness as anyone else has theirs. Before pleasing others, first please yourself and make decisions not based on anyone else’s opinions,” Muima said.
It happened when they got to the town and searched for accommodation, they landed in the house where Thereza is the landlady. They paid rent and started leaving there.
Days went by and Muyma and Thereza started falling in love with each other.
At the beginning of their friendship, Thereza used to call Muima her husband and he took it just as mere words but as days went by, he realised the words were deeper. And when he had no money for transport, she would pay for him. And slowly by slowly, he started falling in love with Thereza.
“The way she behaved and treated me pushed me to love her. Although she is an old woman and in reality could be my grandmother, so what! I love her,” Muima said.
On how they fell in love, the 25-year-old recalled an incident that transpired one fateful Friday.
“I remember one Friday when my colleague wasn’t around, I was hungry and we had no food. I was very weak. And out of nowhere, the old woman brought me some food. She came and served me with too much care. I will name that a good Friday in our love story. Thereza asked for a kiss and I kissed her and after that, she smiled and left,” he said.
“I fell in love when a lot of girls but they end up separating as they were always too dramatic. So he decided to fall in love with the old woman. He knew this one would not always as to make hairs and it’s obvious she has grey short hairs.”
He added: “I will never choose any girl over this my girlfriend. I pray she won’t die before me because I can automatically commit suicide.”
Showering encomiums on her younger lover, the mother of 8 kids and 20 grandkids said she loves Muima just as he loves her.
Thereza noted she was ready to risk it all for their relationship.
“I am 85 years of age. I have 8 children and 20 grandchildren. According to my boyfriend’s age, he could be my 5th grandchild. He loves me and I also love him. I am ready to put on the wedding dress and ring and vow to stay with him until death do us apart”, said Thereza.
Thereza insisted the Bible has examples of people who defied the odds to be together as she pleaded with people to leave them alone.
She said many old men have sought to date her after her husband’s death but she rejected them immediately until God eventually brought the right man, “And I will ask him to quickly hurry up the remaining process for us to get married so I become his and him, mine.” Continue Reading
