The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the November 11 Imo state governorship election, Senator Samuel ‘Samdaddy’ Anyanwu, has expressed confidence in thwarting the incumbent Governor’s re-election bid.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the director of New Media, Samuel Anyanwu Campaign Council, Dumebi Ifeanyichukwu, on Wednesday.
According to the statement, the ruling APC is jittery and afraid of their impending loss in November.
“We are not in the business of joining words with the APC or its governorship candidate, Hope Uzodinma.”
The PDP candidate also decried the rising level of poverty, unemployment and insecurity thriving under the Uzodinma-led administration.
“Hope Uzodinma and his government has decided to impoverish the people and put them in perpetual poverty. Our young people, who are talented and educated, have no job. Imo state, today, is one of the most dreaded places in the country because of the heightened insecurity. This is the legacy of Uzodinma.”
“It is shameful that the same government, which is supposed to be seeking forgiveness from the people, wants to be re-elected. Affliction shall never rise again,” the statement read.
He further stated that; “The APC is agitated because the people of Imo State will not allow Uzodinma and his cronies to rig and sponsor violence in November like they did across the country during the Presidential, State and National Assembly elections. Our people will vote out APC and secure their votes from these election robbers.”
The PDP candidate stated that the electorate in Imo state will not be swayed by the malfeasance allowed in the general election.
“They will vote without fear or favour. Our campaign programs are there to see so they know we will deliver,” he said.
