Imo govt partners NDJA for positive reporting

The Imo State government has explained the need for a partnership with the Niger Delta Journalists Association (NDJA) to ensure positive reportage of government activities in the state.

The Chief of Staff (General Services) at the Government House in Owerri, Chief Ferdinand Uzodimma, stated this when he hosted the Association in his office on Monday.

Chief Ferdinand emphasized that, given the current economic realities in the country, there is an urgent need to collaborate with the NDJA.

He promised that the Imo State government will do its best to assist the association, adding that he would convey their message to the Governor of Imo State.

He commended Governor Sen. Hope Uzodimma for his numerous achievements in the state, stating that he has left a remarkable legacy in both the state and the country at large.

He said: “In other words, the beauty of the fine roads and other edifices that Imolites are currently enjoying under Governor Hope Uzodimma can only be truly appreciated when viewed against the backdrop of the intangible.”

He further stated that the Governor has some of the best minds and talents in the state and country to manage the affairs of government even in his absence.

The Deputy Chief of Staff (General Services) to the Governor of Imo State, Chief Ferdinand Uzodimma (Osisiogu), was conferred with an award of patronship and Excellent Service by the Niger Delta Journalists Association (NDJA) Imo State Chapter.

In his earlier address, the chairman of the Association, Comrade Austin Okoro, lauded Chief Ferdinand Uzodimma for his significant contributions to the state, noting that he has performed exceptionally well both politically and otherwise.

He mentioned that the association had previously observed with great admiration the humanitarian services of the Deputy Chief of Staff at both the LGA and state government levels, which led the NDJA to honor him with the award.

He pointed out that Ferdinand Uzodimma has previously served meritoriously as a Councillor, Sole Administrator of Oru East LGA, member of the House of Assembly Service Commission, Special Adviser to the Governor on Project Monitoring, and is now the Deputy Chief of Staff (General Services) to the Governor of Imo State.

He commended Chief Ferdinand Uzodimma for using his office to empower many women, widows, indigent persons, youths, and others.

Mr. Austin described Chief Ferdinand as a lover of his people and a rare divine gift whose skills cannot be overlooked in leadership, emphasizing that the awardee has performed admirably. It was unanimously resolved to confer upon him an award of patronship and Excellent Service to encourage him to do even more for the people of Imo.

Comrade Austin Okoro also thanked Governor Hope Uzodimma for recognizing these attributes and potentials by appointing their Leader and Patron, Hon. Chief Ferdinand Uzodimma, to the exalted position of Deputy Chief of Staff (General Services).
