The Inter-Party Advisory Council Elders’ Forum in Oyo State has committed itself to work day and night for the reelection of governor Seyi Makinde.
Addressing journalists in Ibadan, the chairman of the forum, Mr Kolawole Ibrahim said the forum comprises 35 political parties whose structures would be mobilised for Makinde to win the March 11 election.
Kolawole said the forum decided to have progressive governance in the State led by governor Seyi Makinde.
He added that the forum was satisfied with the progress recorded under the present government and would want the trajectory to continue.
He said the governor had recorded giant strides in his four pillars of governance: infrastructure, security, health and economic expansion and would want continuity.
Kolawole stressed that the forum, which is also a conference of deregistered political parties in Oyo State, believed that the emergence of any other governorship candidate other than Makinde of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would amount to either retrogression or starting all over in the State.
Some other members of the forum present at the event were: Oye Ademola (Democratic People’s Congress), Segun Ogungbayi (KOWA), Abimbola Azeez (Unity Party of Nigeria), Raji Olalekan (People’s Party of Nigeria), Fashola Olayinka (Rebuild Nigeria Party), Akinjobi Adesina (All Grassroots Alliance), Badejo Gbenga (United Progressive Party), Moshood Adegboyega (Mass Action Joint Alliance), Abimbola Tewogbade (Progressive People’s Alliance), Awopegba Afolayan (United Democratic Party).
Speaking further, Kolawole, who said the conference functioned as the Inter-Party Advisory Council Elders’ Forum, tasked State residents to vote en-masse for Makinde in the March 11 elections.
Kolawole added that the forum not only comprises deregistered parties but also registered parties and other stakeholders who have vowed to ensure Makinde’s reelection.
