Former Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, expressed her gratitude to President Bola Tinubu, stating that it has been an honour and a privilege for her to contribute to the development of the nation.

Ohanenye’s remarks follow her recent dismissal along with four other ministers during the 19th Federal Executive Council meeting at the State House in Abuja on Wednesday.

In a letter of appreciation released to journalists on Thursday, she thanked President Tinubu for the opportunity to serve, emphasising her commitment to Nigeria’s progress and prosperity.

The President appointed Imaan Suleiman-Ibrahim, the former Minister of State for Police Affairs, as the new Minister for Women Affairs, thanking Ohanenye and the other outgoing ministers for their service.

Ohanenye also extended her gratitude to First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu for her “invaluable guidance and support” throughout her tenure, which she credited as instrumental to her success.

She expressed her deep appreciation for the unwavering support of Nigerians, saying, “Your trust and confidence in me have been a constant source of inspiration.

“I remain committed to serving my country and will continue to do my utmost to contribute to its progress and prosperity.”
