A man, Adeleye, has prayed Grade A Customary Court, Mapo, Ibadan, Oyo State, to put an end to the relationship between him and his wife, Mojisola on account of irresponsibility, neglect and denial of conjugal right.
Adeleye told the court that Mojisola abandoned her responsibility towards him and their children and was always going out without his consent.
The plaintiff explained that the defendant constantly starved him and their children because she refused to cook.
He added that it has been three years since they both had s3x.
According to the plaintiff, he forced his way through the few times he had s3x with the defendant.
Adeleye said he had enough of his wife’s atrocious and wanted her out of his life.
He entreated the court for the custody of their children.
Mojisola denied all the allegations brought against her.
She stated that she cooked for both her husband and his friends on regular basis with the proceeds from her business.
The defendant also said that she and the plaintiff had a healthy s3x life.
According to her, they had s3x everywhere and anytime.
Mojisola further stated that her husband was a womaniser and that she demanded to be excused from s3x after her husband was infected with STD by her lover.
The defendant refused that their union be dissolved and her husband granted their children’s custody.
Adeleke, in his evidence, stated, “My lord, though my wife and I have been married for 14 years, I enjoyed our marriage for only six months.
“We had Nikkah, and I paid her bride price.
“The first six months of our wedlock was heaven on earth.
“My wife and I both enjoyed pleasurable moments.
“She was loving, caring, and submissive.
“We always loved to be in each other’s company and pampered each other.
“But she suddenly changed and became defiant.
“My wife started going out without my permission and would leave the home unattended to.
“She became unloving and uncaring and constantly neglected my welfare and that of our children.
“I called her attention to her negative attitude, but she remained adamant.
“Mojisola to my chagrin stopped cooking for me and our children.
“Our children looked unkempt and were demaniated.
“It was our neighbour who came to our rescue by feeding us any time they cooked.
“My wife, in addition, left me to burn because she constantly denied me s3x.
“The times we had s3x it was with a lot of struggle.
“I always force my way through.
“My lord, the last time we had s3x was three years ago.
“I reported her to her parents, but she refused to change despite their several counsels.
“I got fed up with her one day and insisted she must leave my house.
“My wife was adamant and disregarded my threats.
“I disconnected the electricity to her room, but she remained unperturbed.
“My lord, I came to court because I did not want to put the law in my hands.
“I earnestly pray the court to dissolve our wedlock and grant me custody of our children.
“I also request an order restricting her from threatening and interfering with my private.”
Mojisola replied, “My husband is a liar.
“I cooked for him and his friends from my purse almost on a daily basis.
“It is these friends who have now turned his heart away from me.
“My lord, he did not say the truth on the issue of s3x.
“He is a womaniser and got infected with one of the s3xually transmitted diseases.
“My husband is heartless.
“He lied to one of the leaders in our community that I infected him with the disease.
“My lord, I do not agree that our wedlock be dissolved or that they grant him our children’s custody.”
The court president, Mrs S.M Akintayo, adjourned the case after she heard both parties.
