Nationnewslead report that The President of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor Samson Oladele, has inaugurated a new Senate Building for Joseph Ayo Babalola University (JABU) commending the stakeholders for turning the Institution to one of the fastest growing universities in the country.
Oladele, while speaking during the inauguration of the new structure, said the building was donated by the church’s Mission Director and Chairman, Caxtonjoe Group, Pastor Segun Fajuyi and his wife, and said the edifice would go a long way in enhancing academic activities of the institution.
The CAC President called on all the stakeholders including the lecturers, staff and students of the school to maintain and sustain the tempo of development in the university.
He said “The new Senate building should be a motivation for the staff and students of JABU to sustain the current tempo of development in the university.”
Oladele commended the university for building on various academic achievements and said the institution’s achievements has been in geometric progression in the last few years.
Speaking, the Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Olasebikan Fakolujo, said Senate building remains a focal point of attraction in any university, and the need for a befitting building has been a priority for the university for a very long time.
According to him, the journey to the completion of the building edifice started about two years ago “when Pastor Fasuyi decided to build this multimillion-naira edifice with his philanthropic and benevolent disposition.
“The donor, a member of the implementation committee of the University, has constantly shown love for the progress and sustenance of the University”
Fakolujo assured that the institution will continue to explore every window to emplace the school for a better rating.
He however, highlighted some of the major accomplishments of the university in the past academic year, stating that the university’s stakeholders have been working tirelessly to achieve its goals and objectives.
Speaking on behalf of his family, the donor Pastor Fasuyi said “no one receives anything except it is given from above.
“This is to the glory of God. I never planned this but the Spirit whispered it to me through the Pro-Chancellor, Professor Anthony Imevbore, who echoed it out.
The new Senate Building is a two-storey building that incorporates the Council Chamber, Senate Chamber, Vice-Chancellor, Registry Division, Bursary Department, and Audit Department.
Personalities in attendance include Pastor Odejobi, General Superintendent; Prophet Hezekiah Oladeji, the General Evangelist; Pastor Omitinde, the Financial Secretary and other ministers of God; the University Management, members of staff, and students’ representatives, among others, who graced the occasion.
