Senator Abdulhamid Malam Madori has publicly endorsed Governor Umar Namadi for a second term re-election for Jigawa state, applauding the governor’s performance in his first tenure and declaring his full support for his re-election bid in Jigawa for 2027.

Speaking on the political direction of Jigawa State on Monday ahead of the next gubernatorial election, Malam Madori, said there was no justification for anyone to challenge Governor Namadi at the polls, given his achievements so far.

“The present Governor, Umar Namadi, has done well in his first tenure, therefore no need for anybody to think of challenging him in the 2027 election,” the senator stated.

“Governor Namadi deserves to serve his second term come 2027 because of his outstanding performance.”

He further declared that the governorship seat in the state is not open, urging political actors within and outside the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to throw their weight behind the incumbent governor.

However, despite the senator’s endorsement, reports suggest that at least six politicians both from the APC and opposition parties are already strategizing ahead of the 2027 race.

While Malam Madori’s declaration could influence the political atmosphere, the final outcome will ultimately depend on party dynamics and the choices of Jigawa voters.
