Nigeria’s first lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has donated food items and N40 million to victims of the recent tanker disaster in Taura Local Government Area of Jigawa state.
Tinubu made the donation on Thursday during a state-wide condolence tour through Mrs Fatima Tajuddeen-Abbas, the wife of the Speaker of the House of Representatives who represented her.
Reports have it that the speaker’s wife was accompanied by the wife of Kano State governor, Hajiya Maryam Abba, and the wife of the Minister of State for Agriculture, Mrs Sa’adatu Sano, in Dutse.

The governor of the state, Umar Namadi in response, said that “the love and support from compassionate leaders had helped in strengthening the state government, the survivors and the families of the deceased to bear the loss”.
