Following the recent ruling by the Court of Appeal sitting in Akure, which ordered the reinstatement of sacked local government chairmen and councilors in Osun State, Hon. Olubunmi Obeisun Ezekiel, the chairman of Oriade Local Government, resumed office today. He was accompanied by his counterpart from the Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Benedict Ajimati, councilors from various wards, All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders, and enthusiastic party loyalists, who stormed the Oriade Local Government Secretariat in celebration of the court’s verdict.

The resumption ceremony turned into a joyous celebration as supporters gathered at the council headquarters. A special prayer and worship session was held at the chairman’s office, where party leaders expressed their gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unwavering support of the APC structure in the state. They also acknowledged the fatherly role of Chief Bisi Akande, appreciating his steadfast commitment to the party and its members, especially in ensuring that the reinstated officials resumed their rightful positions.

Speaking at the event, the local government chairman, Hon. Olubunmi Obeisun, extended his appreciation to key party figures and stakeholders for their support. He praised the immediate past governor of Osun State and current Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alhaji Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola, for his dedication to justice and his commitment to upholding the rule of law, which paved the way for their reinstatement.

Also in attendance were notable leaders, including the Oriade local government party chairman, Chief Ajewole (popularly known as Golo), Hon. Lasun Ogunsanya, Hon. Tomi Aloba, and Hon. Taiwo Fatiregun, among others. Hon. Obeisun personally expressed his gratitude to these leaders for their resilience and support in ensuring the success of the APC-led administration at the grassroots level.

In his address, Hon. Obeisun urged party members to embrace unity and move forward with a renewed sense of purpose. He emphasized the need to put past grievances aside and work collectively towards the progress of the local government, stating that the reinstatement of APC leadership was a victory for all, both leaders and members alike.

Chief Ajewole (Golo), the APC local government chairman, also addressed the gathering, reaffirming the party’s commitment to strengthening its grassroots presence. He encouraged members to remain loyal and dedicated to the party’s cause, emphasizing that the victory should be seen as a stepping stone toward greater achievements.

Hon. Lasun Ogunsanya and other councilors in attendance echoed similar sentiments, pledging to deliver effective governance and ensure the welfare of the people. They assured party members that they would remain steadfast in their responsibilities and uphold the trust placed in them.

The atmosphere at the event was filled with excitement as party members and loyalists celebrated the victory. Chants of solidarity and expressions of hope for a stronger APC administration at the local government level resonated throughout the gathering.

The ceremony concluded with a call for collective effort in ensuring good governance and party unity, as leaders and members resolved to work together for the continued development of Oriade Local Government.
