Yunusa Tanko, a key aide to Peter Obi, has just been appointed as the new interim national coordinator of the OBIdient Movement.
This movement has been gaining momentum since the 2023 presidential election, with many young Nigerians rallying behind Peter Obi’s promise of frugality and accountability.
Tanko’s appointment was announced during citizens engagement space with Peter Obi, which was monitored by TRIBUNE ONLINE on Monday.
As the chief spokesperson for the Obi-Datti organisation, Yunusa has been vocal about the movement’s significance, stating that it’s larger than the Labour Party itself.
About the OBIdient Movement
The OBIdient Movement began as a grassroots campaign, fueled by young people’s frustration with Nigeria’s existing political system. With Obi’s candidacy, the movement gained traction, focusing on issues like poverty, unemployment, and good governance.
Yunusa Tanko’s Role
As national coordinator, Yunusa will likely play a crucial role in mobilising support and coordinating efforts across the country. His experience as Obi’s aide and spokesperson will undoubtedly serve him well in this new position.
