In a significant move towards modernizing Kaduna State, the Kaduna State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Huawei Technologies Company, Nigeria Limited.
The signing ceremony, held at Huawei’s office in Beijing, was attended by Nigeria’s President, H.E. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, alongside several governors, ministers, and senior government officials.
The MoU, signed by the Governor of Kaduna State and Chris Lu, CEO of Huawei Technologies Nigeria Limited, marks the commencement of the ambitious SMART CITY PROJECT in Kaduna State.
The initiative aims to enhance security, improve public service efficiency, foster transparency, and boost the state’s competitiveness.
The project is also expected to attract talents and investments, thereby establishing Kaduna as a safer and smarter state.

As part of the strategic partnership, Huawei will offer comprehensive solutions and technical support in several critical areas including: State-Level Unified Command Center Enhanced Security Intelligent Traffic System E-Government and Office Automation Smart Education Smart Healthcare ICT Talent Development Renewable Energy Public Transportation
To ensure successful implementation, the Kaduna State Government and Huawei will form a joint committee to finalize the project’s Implementation Plan, Funding Arrangement, and the Technology to be deployed.
The focus will be on delivering a project that is sustainable and offers substantial value to the people of Kaduna State.
This partnership underscores Kaduna State’s commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technology for improved governance and urban development.
