Musawa Local Government Area of Katsina State has engaged the services of 75 Islamic scholars to seek divine intervention for peace in the area plagued by terrorism and other related crimes.
This was disclosed by the Executive Chairman of the LG, Dr Habib Abdulkadir, in an interview with newsmen over the weekend.
The local government area is one of the LGAs plagued by serious security challenges brought about by the activities of bandits, terrorists, kidnappers, and rustlers.
Hundreds of villagers have been killed, while thousands of houses destroyed in these areas.
According to him, the Islamic clerics were selected from different religious sects and would continue to pray until lasting peace is achieved.
He disclosed further that the government is expending over N4 million monthly to sponsor the prayers.
The LG chairman noted that with the prayers, peace had returned to some troubled communities affected by insecurity in the area.
He also commended the federal and state governments for their support in the fight against terrorists in the area, assuring the council’s unwavering support to extend a similar gesture to security personnel in the area.
