The ongoing feud between Nigerian music stars Kcee, also known as Limpopo, and his former label mate Harrysong has intensified, with Kcee continually sharing videos and audio clips of his past hit songs. This move is widely seen as an apparent taunt against Harrysong, who previously claimed that he was responsible for most of Kcee’s successful tracks.
In recent weeks, Kcee has been posting snippets of his earlier collaborations with top music acts such as Davido and Diamond Platnumz. These posts are perceived as a response to Harrysong’s assertion that since his departure from Five Star Music—a label co-owned by Kcee and his brother E-Money—Kcee’s music career has been less impressive.
Kcee, however, refutes Harrysong’s claims, insisting that he has released numerous hits post-Harrysong’s exit. “I’ve dropped more hit songs since he left, and it’s something he would find hard to match,” Kcee said in a recent interview. He added, “My music speaks for itself, and I don’t need anyone to validate my success.”
Harrysong, on the other hand, has been vocal about his contributions to Kcee’s career.
“I wrote many of his hit songs, and it’s unfortunate that he doesn’t acknowledge that,” Harrysong stated. He further accused Kcee of withholding royalties for some of the hit songs he released while he was still signed to Five Star Music.
The tension between the two artists dates back to five years ago when Harrysong opted out of his contract renewal with Five Star Music. Harrysong explained that the renewal process was stalled, leading him to seek other opportunities. “Leaving the label was a necessary step for my growth as an artist,” he said.
Despite leaving the label, Harrysong claims that he has not been fairly compensated for his work. “Kcee and the label owe me royalties, and it’s disappointing that I have to fight for what is rightfully mine,” he said. This accusation has added another layer to their ongoing dispute.
Kcee, however, dismissed Harrysong’s allegations about royalties. “There’s no truth to what he’s saying. All financial matters were handled transparently,” Kcee responded. He suggested that Harrysong’s claims are an attempt to gain public sympathy and attention.
The public fallout has drawn reactions from fans and industry insiders alike. Some fans have taken sides, with a few supporting Harrysong’s claims of ghostwriting and unpaid royalties, while others stand by Kcee, praising his continuous stream of hit songs.
Adding fuel to the fire, Kcee recently posted a video montage of his performances and collaborations over the years, captioning it, “Real talent cannot be hidden. Hits upon hits.” This post was perceived by many as a direct jab at Harrysong’s statements about his contributions to Kcee’s career.
Harrysong responded to Kcee’s posts, urging his followers to focus on the truth rather than the spectacle. “Let’s not get distracted by the noise. The truth will always prevail,” he wrote on his social media. He emphasized the importance of integrity in the music industry and how he has always stood for fairness.
The ongoing feud between Kcee and Harrysong shows no signs of abating, with both artists continuing to air their grievances publicly. As the debate rages on, fans are left to wonder if there will ever be a resolution to this long-standing conflict.
For now, the music industry watches closely as these two former label mates navigate their turbulent relationship, each continuing to build their legacy in the Nigerian music scene.
