The Kebbi state government has attributed the irregular electricity supply to the collapse of the national grid which is not peculiar to the state alone.
The Special Adviser to the State governor on Power and Political Affairs, Alhaji Kabiru Sani-Giant stated this Wednesday while briefing newsmen in his office.
Sani-Giant pointed out that the governor had taken all necessary measures to ensure uninterrupted power supply during and after Ramadan, adding that the state is experiencing reduction in power supply due to energy drop nation wide.
He recalled that the governor had a meeting with the top management of Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company (KAEDCO) on ways to ensure regular powder supply in the state during which he provided financial support to the company towards the objective .
“Under the arrangement, the six feeders serving the state capital have been allocated specific hours to distribute energy to consumers, the governor has placed premium on energy which is the foundation for economic growth; that is why he has also procured 40 new transformers which will soon be commissioned and installed to boost electricity supply in the state.”
The Special Adviser therefore called on consumers of electricity to endeavour in settling their monthly bills unfailingly to enable KAEDCO purchase electricity from Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).
