Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara state have set targets for the newly appointed chairman of the Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority (LNRBDA), Alhaji Abdullateef Alakawa, and members of his team.
In a statement by the former special assistant to the governor on transport, Hon. Salaudeen Rasheed (Manya), he described the appointment as well deserved, saying that the new LNRBDA chairman overseeing the regions of Kwara and Kogi states should aim to attract improved development to his area of operations.
He also charged the new chairman to make dedication, hard work, and people-centred programs his focus towards greater achievements.

Hard work is more work, advised the new chairman not to disappoint the state and its people.
The people expressed the hope that Alakawa, who was special adviser Political/Strategy to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State, would make the authority to continue to thrive and record significant strides in the development of the region.

“It is truly a testament to your dedication, hard work, and leadership skills that you have been chosen for this important role. Your patriotism has contributed immensely to the development of both your local government and the state at large.
“We also want to appreciate His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kwara State and Chairman, Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF), Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, CON, for his leadership qualities and for helping to positively impact our state’s national perspective.”
It is recalled that President Bola Tinubu recently appointed Alhaji Abdullateef Alakawa (Kwara) as Chairman and Mr. George Olumoroti (Kogi) as Managing Director of the Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority.
The appointed Executive Directors are: Mr Babajamu Adeniran (Kwara) for Engineering; Mr Abdullahi Sadiq (Kogi) for Agricultural Services; Mr Alanamu Abolore (Kwara) for Planning and Design; and Mr Abidemi Adeyemi (Kogi) for Finance.
